Jr Product Design Engineer

Studio Proper, a growing product design and manufacturing business in Melbourne, is seeking a talented junior product developer to join our team. We create technology solutions for some of the worlds most respected and recognised brands.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fast-paced dynamic design environment, where you will gain hands-on exposure to a broad range of tasks across the entire spectrum of product commercialisation.

This role can be full time, or part time to fit within a University schedule for the right candidate.

Your tasks will include the following:

Product Development

• Continuous product improvement, cost reduction, efficiency
• Cad for rapidly evaluating concepts
• Detailing designs for prototype or production
• Technical drawings, assembly and CMF documents as needed

Manufacturing

• Sourcing or working with existing suppliers across a range of expertise
• Collaborating with manufacturing engineers to work through problems
• Managing COG, release documentation
• Managing initial productions

Marketing / Graphic support

• Product visualisation, product rendering
• Packaging design
• Designing and documenting product instructions
• Product demonstration videos
• Documenting process / studio collateral

Conceptualisation

• Exploring new project concepts, internal and external
• Rendering concepts and creating pitch decks
• Exploring new innovation opportunities for internal products
• Scoping new market and industry vertical opportunities

Priority will be given to applicants with experience in Keyshot or similar visualisation software and Solidworks modelling for concepts, manufacturing & technical drawings.

Adobe & Gsuite experience will be beneficial.
